In Loving Memory of Shirley Milsom🕊️

13th July 1937 – 3rd October 2026

This page has been created in loving memory of Shirley, a much-loved mother, mother-in-law, Nana, great-Nana, sister, sister-in-law, auntie, great-auntie, cousin and treasured friend to so many.

Shirley was the heart of a large and loving family, a truly special lady who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Known for her incredible strength, positive outlook on life and wonderful sense of humour, Shirley had an amazing ability to keep smiling, no matter what life threw at her.

She loved being surrounded by family, sharing stories, enjoying a good laugh and making memories. Her warmth, determination and love for life will always be remembered.

Although she will be missed beyond words, her family would like to celebrate her life with the same love, laughter and positivity that she brought to those around her.

Why we have chosen Thirsk Friends of The Lambert Hospice ❤️

As a family, we wanted to support a local charity that makes a real difference to people in our community.

We have chosen Thirsk Friends of the Lambert Hospice because we recognise how important compassionate care and support are for people living with serious and life-limiting illnesses, including cancer, as well as many other conditions.

Cancer has touched the lives of so many families, including our own, and we wanted to support a cause that helps people facing these difficult times, whatever their diagnosis.

We believe everyone deserves dignity, comfort, kindness and compassion, not only during illness but also in the support offered to their loved ones.

Supporting a charity close to home feels like a meaningful way to honour Shirley’s memory while helping others in our community.

Instead of flowers at Shirley’s funeral, we would be incredibly grateful for any donations to Thirsk Friends of The Lambert Hospice.

Every donation, however small, will be a lovely way to remember Shirley and make a positive difference to others.

Thank you for all the kindness, love and support shown to the family during this difficult time.

Forever loved, always remembered and never forgotten. 🕊️
